Ms. Rimali Batra holds a Bachelor of Social Legal Sciences and Law (BSL LL. B) from ILS Law College, University of Pune, where she was a university rank holder all five years. After graduation, she was placed with ICICI Bank’s Litigation / Regulatory Team at New Delhi where she worked for a year, before venturing to read the BCL from University of Oxford’s Lincoln College. She was awarded the K.C. Mahindra Scholarship to pursue her masters at University of Oxford. She also holds a Certificate Degree in American Civil Procedure, University of Utah, US. She has additionally completed Diplomas in International Business Laws and Corporate Laws from Symbiosis International University; Security Laws from Asian School of Cyber Law, Pune; Intellectual Property Right from NLSIU Bangalore; Forensic Science and Criminology from ILS Law College; Domestic and International Arbitration Law from Asian School of Cyber Law and Cyber Laws from Asian School of Cyber Law. She cleared the UGC-NET exam in 2012.

Rimali has been a visiting faculty with Symbiosis Law School and ILS Law College since 2014 (conducted courses on Securities Laws, Energy Laws among others). She has also been invited to conducted lectures / seminar on various topic by SCOPE (lectures / speeches on issues in arbitration for PSUs), ICSI (lectures on Arbitration and Insolvency), and various Government PSUs (lecture series for engineers of BHEL on contracting) in the last five years.

Rimali was a part of J. Sagar Associates regulatory litigation team, where she practiced electricity law extensively. She has also worked with the regulatory team of Trilegal, before moving to DSK Legal, where she is presently placed as an Associate Partner with the Dispute Resolution and Regulatory Litigation team. She has an enriching experiencing of practicing law for over 11 years and has been assisting domestic, international and government clients alike including, GAIL, IOCL, SAIL, UIDAI, DHBVN, UHBVN, PTC India, PNGRB, RITES and others.

Rimali’ s areas of interest are regulators, regulations, electricity and oil and gas law. She also has a keen interest in Medical Law and has been extensively assisting many by extending her services on pro-bono basis. She has also extensively researched and published articles with journals, as book chapters and op-eds with leading national daily newspapers on her areas of interest.

Rimali has also worked on regulatory and policy projects with various ministries, such as Ministry of Power, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Ministry of Railways, the Law Commission, among others. She steered and was co-leading the team on two key projects in the country namely, i.e., setting up of a gas trading exchange in India and setting up of a rail regulator in the country.

Rimali enjoys reading and writing poetry and has a keen interest in trekking. She has been a national and international basketball player and has also played for team India and team Oxford.
