Priyanka has recently graduated from the School of Law, Rights and Constitutional Governance with a degree in Master of Laws in Access to Justice from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Prior to this, she pursued her undergraduate B.A., LL.B.(Hons.) degree from Amity Law School, Noida.
As per the course mandate of her LL.M. degree, she has worked with YUVA (Youth for Unity and Voluntary Action) for her fieldwork; a non-profit development organisation working on the rehabilitation of PAPs (Project affected Persons) of the Tansa pipeline (Mumbai) whose houses were demolished by the municipal corporation for a developmental project. She presented and published a paper titled “Lack of Urban Housing: Case Study of Bandra Pipeline Basti” from the data collated from her field experiences at the National University of Advanced Legal Services, Kochi’s International Multi-Disciplinary Conference on “Labour Rights in the New Millennium”. She has also published research papers on various socio-political issues.
She has served as editor for her department’s weekly newsletter, “Access to Justiss” during her one-year LL.M. at TISS. She completed her LL.M. dissertation, “Illegal Migrant or Refugee: A Comparative Study of Tibetan and Rohingya Refugees” under the guidance of Prof. K.M. Parivelan, Chairperson, Centre of Statelessness and Refugee Studies, SLRCG, TISS.
