Prof. (Dr.) Kenneth Holland specializes in establishing the rule of law in developing countries and the legal foundations of the global trading system.  Prior to joining Jindal Global Law School, he was President of the American University of Afghanistan. 

He earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Chicago, M.A. in Government from the University of Virginia and B.A. in Political Science (summa cum laude) from Furman University.  He held previous academic positions at Luther College, the University of Wisconsin—Madison, the University of Vermont, the University of Memphis, Kansas State University, and Ball State University.   He was a Fulbright Professor of Law at Tohoku University in Japan, a Visiting Professor at the University of Calgary in Canada, a Research Fellow at the Australian National University and a Fulbright Specialist in Burma.  From 2009-14 he was the Senior Civilian Rule of Law Advisor to the NATO Rule of Law Field Support Mission in Afghanistan. 

He is a Past President of the Association for Canadian Studies in the United States.  He is the winner of three research awards and has published nine books and more than 60 refereed articles and edited several special issues of internationally known journals.  His academic work reflects a special interest in the role of the judiciary in democratic regimes.
