Prof. Daniel Stein is an Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and is a graduate of Tulane Law School with certificates in Admiralty Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution and SUNY Buffalo. He served as Senior Articles Editor of the Tulane Environmental Law Journal, which published his prize-winning Comment on Arctic shipping and polar maritime law responses to global warming.
He served as a legal extern at the International Maritime Organization in London and at the Arctic Center in Rovaniemi, Finland. Prior to law school, Daniel worked as a Legislative Aide for Senator Jon Tester (D-MT), at the CUNY Hunter National Center for the Study of Collective Bargaining in Higher Education, and in the law offices of Ali Najmi.
His research interests include environmental law, maritime law, the law of the sea, and torts, and his recent scholarship focuses on the Alien Tort Statute and securities law. While not teaching and traveling, Daniel enjoys music, hiking, and playing outfield.
