Bhavinee completed her B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Institute of Law, Nirma University and LL.M. in Human Rights Law and International Humanitarian Law from Emory University School of Law, Atlanta. Singh received the David J. Bederman Fellowship Award for the study of Public International law at The Hague Academy of International Law.

She has previously worked at the Carter Center in Atlanta with their Human Rights Program, where she focused on their projects relating to women and girls in Ghana and Nigeria. She has also worked as research assistant to Professor Johan D. van der Vyver, I.T. Cohen Professor of International Law and Human Rights at Emory University. She was a member of the International Humanitarian Law Clinic at Emory and worked on projects with the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

She is currently focussed on research in the development sector. She serves as a member of the Alumni Board of the Centre for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, Institute of Law, Nirma University. She is a member of the United Service Institution of India, New Delhi and Associate Member of the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, New Delhi.

At JGU, she has been teaching courses on Constitutional Law. Her areas of interest are located at the intersection of constitutional law, human rights law, gender justice, feminist and sexuality studies.
