Ashima Sharma is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Animal Laws from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar. She completed her master’s degree in Constitutional and Administrative Law in 2018 and holds two gold medals to her credit. Before joining JGU, she previously taught International Investment Law and International Sale of Goods at Gujarat Maritime University, Gandhinagar for a year. She also has an experience of working as a Research Assistant in various projects funded by the Government of Gujarat.
Her research interests include Animal Laws, Constitutional Law, Family Law and the Law of Tort. She aims to build a better understanding of Animal Rights and is working towards creating a robust system of protection of animals from cruelty in India.
