Prof. Anurag Bhaskar completed his LLM (2018-19) from Harvard Law School, where he studied courses on constitutional law, constitutional history and civil rights movement, race, poverty and development, gender justice, philosophy, and legal profession. Before pursuing his Masters degree, Anurag worked as a Law Clerk-cum-Research Assistant for Dr. Justice Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud (Judge, Supreme Court of India) during July 2017-18, where he got the opportunity to contribute to a number of landmark cases. He has pursued his undergraduate law degree, B.A. LLB (Hons.), from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU), Lucknow during 2012-17. While a law student, he did internships with seven judges of Allahabad High Court and Supreme Court of India. He also assisted Uttar Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights as well as Department of Women and Child Development (Government of Uttar Pradesh) in a couple of research projects on child rights.
Anurag has several publications to his credit in the academic journal, Economic & Political Weekly, and has extensively written in popular online portals, including Live Law, The Wire and The Print. He was the second most read author on The Wire in 2017. His academic interests include constitutional law and theory, politics, political theory, social justice, intersectionality, human rights, among others.
Anurag has taught a seminar course titled “Law, Politics and Social Transformation” at National Law University, Delhi during Sept. – Nov. 2019. He also serves as a Contributing Editor at Live Law.
