Professor Mayank currently serves as the Dean of Jindal Global Business School (JGBS) at O. P. Jindal Global University (JGU), one of the largest B-schools in India based on full-time faculty members. With over 17 years of extensive experience, his career has encompassed pivotal leadership roles focused on strategic planning, organisational innovation and transformation, P&L, faculty and staff recruitment, management and retention, academic programme development, industry partnerships, accreditation initiatives, and the overall branding and management of the business school.

Professor Mayank has an established track record of successfully conceptualising and implementing initiatives instrumental in turning around the operations, leading to significant improvements in the business school’s performance and reputation. At JGBS, he has driven a remarkable turnaround and growth since he assumed the office of Dean JGBS in 2021. Under his leadership JGBS has, in the last three years, seen a whopping 165% increase in student enrolments, more than 100% increase in full-time faculty numbers, a 200% increase in research output, a 160% increase in industry guest lectures, a 170% increase in international collaboration agreements for student mobility, and a remarkable 8X growth in external research grants. JGBS is now one of the top B-schools in India in research output and international collaboration agreements for student mobility and one of the largest B-schools in India in terms of number of students as well as full-time faculty members. Additionally, the BBA (Hons.) programme of JGBS is now consistently ranked as India’s No. 1 BBA programme!

Professor Mayank holds a Ph.D. in Strategic Management from Technological University Dublin, Ireland; an M.Sc. in Marketing (First Class Honours with a Gold Medal) from Technological University Dublin, Ireland; and a B.Tech. in Information Technology (First Class) from Vellore Institute of Technology, India. He also holds certifications in various domains from the University of Manchester (UK), Singapore Management University (Singapore), Northern Illinois University (USA), Indian Institute of Management-IIM (India), SAP Analytics Cloud, IDEO-U (USA), LEGO® Serious Play® (Denmark), Palladium Kaplan-Norton (BSC), and Innovative Learning Solutions (USA).

His research interests are in the areas of organisational strategy, strategic alliances, resource-based and dynamic capability views, and firm-level capability development. He has published his work on these research areas in multiple international peer-reviewed (ABDC/ABS/SCOPUS listed) journals, such as Industrial Marketing Management (ABDC A-star, ABS 3), International Journal of Retail & Distribution Management (ABDC A), Annals of Operations Research (ABDC A), and International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction (ABDC A), as well as in multiple top strategy and management conferences, including the Academy of Management (USA), Strategic Management Society (USA), European Academy of Management (Belgium), Academy of International Business (USA), British Academy of Management (UK), and Irish Academy of Management (Ireland).

In addition to his research pursuits, Professor Mayank is widely regarded as an exceptional educator, consistently receiving top student feedback across the various courses he has taught at different institutions. He employs a diverse range of teaching pedagogies, including computer simulations, experiential activities inside and outside the classroom, case studies, group projects, and traditional lectures. He firmly believes in the “Socratic” and “learning-by-doing” methods, employing them extensively to consistently surpass learning objectives in his courses.

Professor Mayank has extensive international travel experience across multiple countries in North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. His thought leadership extends to frequent contributions in the form of articles and opinion pieces on contemporary international and national issues, published in leading English dailies such as the Times of India, Economic Times, Business Standard, Financial Express and Deccan Herald. Furthermore, he is a sought-after speaker at national and international conferences, seminars, and panel discussions.
