Satyam is a faculty of Marketing in the Jindal Global Business School at Jindal Global University.
His research interests include marketing management in low-income contexts, primarily base of the pyramid (BOP) markets, distribution channels, small retailing, and rural marketing. For his doctoral work, he has studied the formation and growth of periodic markets, and adoption behavior of mobile services in subsistence marketplaces.
He has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi University (Delhi College of Engineering). Prior to pursuing an academic career, he has worked for two years with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Fortune 500 company. He has received several grants including Paul R. Lawrence Fellowship to present his work at international and national forums. He has presented his research papers and case-study at several reputed national and international conferences. He has authored journal articles, a book chapter, and a book review in international publications.
