Dr. Roopendra Roopak is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Jindal Global Business School, O.P. Jindal Global University. He holds a PhD in Marketing Management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur, where his doctoral research focused on customer engagement within online brand communities, with an emphasis on psychological and contextual drivers.
His research interests lie at the intersection of digital marketing, customer engagement, brand communities, and the policy implications of AI adoption. Dr. Roopak has published in reputed peer-reviewed journals and regularly presents his work at leading national and international academic conferences, including the ISMS Marketing Science Conference and the POMS International Conference. His work aims to bridge academic rigour with managerial relevance and contribute meaningfully to scholarly and practitioner discourse.
At JGBS, Dr. Roopak teaches a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Social Media Marketing, and Marketing Management. His teaching philosophy emphasizes the integration of theoretical foundations with contemporary industry practices, fostering applied learning and critical thinking among students.
Prior to entering academia, Dr. Roopak gained valuable experience working on projects of global enterprise technology firms such as Adobe, Oracle, HP, and Cisco. This industry background informs his academic work, particularly in areas related to marketing strategy, platform economy, and digital transformation.
