Dr. Roopendra Roopak is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Jindal Global Business School, O.P. Jindal Global University. He earned his PhD in Marketing Management from the Indian Institute of Management Kashipur, where his doctoral research examined customer engagement in online brand communities, with a focus on underlying psychological and contextual mechanisms.
His research lies at the intersection of digital marketing, customer engagement, and platform environments. He adopts a multimethod approach, combining qualitative inquiry, quantitative modeling, and computational techniques to study how firms design engagement environments and how consumers respond to them. His work has been published in leading marketing journals and presented at premier international conferences, including the ISMS Marketing Science Conference and the POMS International Conference. He continues to build on this line of research with the aim of publishing in top marketing journals.
At JGBS, Dr. Roopak teaches undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral-level courses, including Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Social Media Marketing, Marketing Management, and Marketing Research. His teaching integrates conceptual foundations with applied, data-driven learning to develop analytical and managerial capabilities among students.
Prior to academia, Dr. Roopak worked on projects with global enterprise technology firms including Adobe, Oracle, HP, and Cisco. This industry experience informs his research and teaching, particularly in areas related to digital strategy and platform-based business models.
