Biography

Sumit is an Associate Professor of Practice with over 22 years of experience across multiple verticals and facets of banking in India. He has made significant contributions to at least four major HR, IT, and Business Transformation projects within a leading Public Sector Bank. Presently, he is actively contributing to the growth of corporate turnaround initiatives in India, focusing on the resolution of stressed assets.

Throughout his career, Sumit has led retail and corporate business centres in major cities like Delhi and Mumbai. He has also managed large teams in administrative offices, including the Bank's corporate headquarters. As a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers, he has experience in policy-making and satisfying compliance and risk management requirements in a highly regulated business environment.

Sumit's transition to academia is fueled by his passion for bridging the gap between practical business challenges and academic research. He is particularly driven by the potential of research-based solutions to address real-world issues in the business environment.

As he looks to the future, Sumit aims to achieve his next milestones of becoming an Insolvency Professional and an Independent Director, further enhancing his contributions to the world of practice.
