Biography

Dr. Surbhi Uniyal is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Jindal Global Business School. She holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Jawaharlal Nehru University, where she specialized in Philosophy of Mind and Ethics. She also completed her M.A. and M.Phil. in Philosophy from Jawaharlal Nehru University and earned her B.A. (Hons.) in Philosophy from Gargi College, University of Delhi.

Prior to joining O.P. Jindal Global University, Dr. Uniyal served as Assistant Professor at Bennett University and Manipal University Jaipur. She has also taught as a Guest Faculty at Hansraj College, University of Delhi. In addition, she delivers live philosophy lectures for the UGC Consortium for Educational Communication, contributing to national-level higher education initiatives.

Dr. Uniyal’s research lies at the intersection of Philosophy of Mind, Ethics, and emerging technologies. Her work critically engages with the Extended Mind Hypothesis, examining how cognitive processes increasingly integrate with external tools. She explores the ethical and conceptual implications of AI–human integration, particularly how technologically mediated cognition reshapes traditional notions of agency, autonomy, moral responsibility, and personhood.
