Biography

Suchisree Chatterjee, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the Jindal Global Business School. She is a scholar of political ecology with interests in environmental governance, the study of the commons, and environmental justice movements. In her doctoral thesis, submitted to the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Bombay, Suchisree has attempted to understand spatiality and alienation among the forest-dwelling communities of Ajodhya Pahar, West Bengal, in relation to the social movements demanding the implementation of the Forest Rights Act (2006) in the region. 

Suchisree has completed her BSc in geography from Loreto College, Kolkata and MA from the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, Jawaharlal Nehru University. She is interested in interdisciplinary research and qualitative methodologies.
