Biography

Rahul Sahu completed his PhD (2025) in Operations Management at the Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. Prior to his doctoral study, he earned his M.Tech (2019) from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. His dissertation, “Uncertainty Aversion Biases and Sustainability Practices in Textile Supply Chain,” investigates how risk and ambiguity aversion influence suppliers’ sustainability-related decisions. Grounded on behavioural operations theory, his research employs a mixed-methods approach—combining qualitative case studies with quantitative methods such as surveys and laboratory experiments—to provide a holistic understanding of sustainable supply chain practices and decision-making under uncertainty.

Rahul’s scholarly contributions include peer-reviewed publications, with the article published in a Q1-ranked, ABDC-listed journal. He has disseminated his research at leading international conferences, including POMS, DSI, and IPSERA, across India, the U.S.A., France, and Spain. His work has been recognised with several distinctions, notably as a finalist for the Best Paper Award at the 55th DSI Annual Conference (2024) and as a recipient of a €1000 bursary at IPSERA 2023. In 2025, he was selected as a fully funded Visiting Research Scholar at the University of Udine, Italy.

His work focuses on bridging theory and practice to develop more sustainable and resilient supply chains through a behavioural perspective, emphasizing human actions and cognitive biases. 
Prior to joining Jindal Global Business School, he served as an Assistant Professor at IILM University, Greater Noida. Earlier in his career, he also worked as a Technical Operations Manager at Nanosafe Solutions Pvt. Ltd., an IIT Delhi–based start-up incubated at FITT, IIT Delhi.
