Biography

Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Organizational Behaviour Group at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta. I completed my thesis proposal in August 2023 and submitted my thesis in January 2026 for evaluation and awaiting examiners’ comments. My research examines the pre- and post-joining challenges faced by transgender individuals in organizations. During my doctoral journey, I have had the opportunity to present my work at prestigious international conferences such as the Australia and New Zealand Academy of Management, British Academy of Management, Southern Management Association, Eastern Academy of Management, and the International Society for the Study of Work & Organizational Values, as well as domestic conferences including the Indian Management Research Conference IMRDC, National Academy of Psychology, Indian Academy of Management, and Indian Council of Social Science Research. In addition to my research, I have assisted in teaching courses such as Interpersonal Skills and Leadership, Organizational Behaviour, Organizational Structure and Design, Leading People, and Managing Diversity and Inclusion in Organizations. My participation in the Teaching Workshop cum Practicum (TWP) at IIM Calcutta provided valuable exposure to diverse teaching techniques for management education. Furthermore, I have assisted my thesis advisory committee chair in several management and leadership development programs focusing on leadership, team building, conflict management, negotiations, and interpersonal development, where experiential learning through class exercises formed the core pedagogy. I look forward to incorporating similar techniques in my teaching. Most recently, I co-authored a case study and teaching note published by Ivey Publishing, titled The LaLiT: Building a Transgender Inclusive Workplace (Wadhwa & Joshi, 2025). This case reflects both my research interests and commitment to creating inclusive learning environments and will be a valuable addition to my classroom resources.
