Dr. Pavitra Mishra is a Fellow in Management from Management Development Institute, Gurgaon (India). Her doctoral research was in the area of Organizational Behavior.  Pavitra Mishra holds a Master’s in Psychology in Human Resource Development and Management from the Allahabad Central University. She has taught School of Management and Entrepreneurship, Shiv Nadar University (HCLGroup), Greater Noida and Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak.

Dr. Mishra’s doctoral research has used sequential mixed-methodology to understand ‘work-family enrichment’ in the Indian context. The research identifies the role of organization’s work-family culture and family resources in enhancing individual’s positive experience while playing multiple roles in work and family domains. The results further report that such positive work-family interactions can develop individual’s psychological capital. Work-family enrichment was also found to be positively related to innovative work behavior when mediated by psychological capital. It thus builds a business case for promoting work-family enrichment interventions in the organizations. She has also attempted to enlist various strategies that Indian employees adopt to enhance their work-family interactions.

She has received three international awards:

  •  Highly Commended Award winner of the 2015 Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral
  • Research Award in the Human Resource Management category
  • Outstanding Paper in the 2016 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence
  • Second runner-up in Ivey-ISB Case Competition, 2010 

She has several national and international peer-reviewed publications in the area of work-family enrichment. She has attended and convened several conferences of international repute. She has published a case on ‘organizational culture’ with Harvard Business Publishing.

Her areas of research interest include – work-family enrichment, work-family conflict, organizational culture, cross-cultural research, psychological capital, innovative work behavior and green human resource management.
