Biography

Dr. Vikas Gupta is an Assistant Professor and Area Chair (Finance) at Jindal Global Business School, O.P. Jindal Global University. He holds a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, where his research focused on IPO underpricing, with an emphasis on empirical analysis and investor strategies in primary markets. His broader research interests include IPO valuation, institutional participation in capital markets, investor sentiment, FinTech, and emerging areas such as sustainable and climate finance.

Dr. Gupta is an Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and brings a strong foundation in corporate laws, taxation, and regulatory frameworks to his academic work. He completed his Master’s in Finance from the Delhi School of Economics and graduated from the University of Delhi as a silver medallist. He is a recipient of the UGC-NET JRF fellowship and a merit-based scholarship from the Government of NCT of Delhi.

At Jindal Global Business School, he teaches a range of core and elective courses, including Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Financial Management, Business Analytics, Personal Tax Planning, Corporate Taxation, and GST. His teaching approach emphasizes the integration of theoretical concepts with practical applications, regulatory insights, and evolving technological developments.

In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Gupta has actively contributed to executive education and professional training. He has conducted programmes for senior officials from institutions such as the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Border Security Force, and Directorate General of Quality Assurance, as well as for industry professionals. He has also been invited as a guest speaker by academic and professional institutions, including sessions on financial markets and startup funding.

Dr. Gupta has published his research in reputed academic journals and has presented at several national and international conferences. He, was selected for a fully funded Faculty Development Program at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, which further strengthened his global academic exposure. He has also engaged with international audiences through sessions on the Indian economy and financial markets.

He is open to collaborative research and consultancy engagements, particularly in the areas of SME and Mainboard IPO issue management, bridging academic rigor with practical market insights.
