Dr. Shaivi Mishra is an Assistant Professor with Jindal Global Business School (JGBS). She comes with a diverse background, having dabbled between the world of consulting and academia. Before joining JGBS she has worked in reputed consulting firms, with Korn Ferry as a leadership advisory consultant, at Ernst and Young as a human capital consultant and with Council of Scientific and Industrial Research in the capacity of an HR advisor.
She has worked closely with clients to define key behaviours that truly distinguish high performance for their organization and provide an insightful assessment of leaders against these. She has been partnering with senior leaders over the course of her career to aid them in their development journeys. She has managed projects across industries such as e-Commerce, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, media, finance, large Indian conglomerates, FMCG, automobiles and the govt. sector. Her key areas of expertise include leadership development, high-potential assessment and development, competency modeling, talent strategy and coaching. She is also a functional expert in the area of diversity and inclusion, having designed programs and journeys across organizations resulting in increased women top talent representation, career advancement and retention.
Her research interests are in the area of social identity and social inclusion. Her thesis work was regarding the kinds of taint waste pickers face and the various coping mechanisms they apply to deal with them. Her work has larger implications for the waste management sector and policy makers. As her future plan of work, she plans to study other aspects of stigma and inclusion; stigma by contagion, socialization, integration processes and fitment of workers involved with tainted work. These include cremation workers, domestic helpers, and public transportation workers. Her research interests also include social entrepreneurship and positive psychology. Her teaching interests include managing people and performance among organizations, leadership behavior, diversity and inclusion management, and positive psychology. She has presented her research in various national and international conferences such as EGOS and Van Humboldt.
Dr. Mishra has completed her PhD from IIM Bangalore. Her thesis was titled- Dealing with the Stigma of Dirty Work: The Coping Mechanisms of Waste Pickers. She has consistently shown academic excellence, having been among the top rankers during her course work at IIM Bangalore, graduation in psychology from Lady Shriram College and master’s in psychology from Faculty of Arts, University of Delhi. She holds an accreditation in the Korn Ferry Hay Group KF4D, KFLA, KFLAP, KF360 and Job Evaluation Methodology.
