Biography

Dr. Saikat Das holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (2023), where his research focused on intervening in a socially networked problem using simulation-based approach. He earned an M.B.A. in Systems (major) and Marketing (minor) from the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (2014) and a B.Tech. in Information Technology from Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology (2009). Additionally, he holds a certification in Business Analytics from the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad.
Dr. Das served as an Assistant Professor at SPJIMR, Mumbai, and Calcutta Business School, Kolkata, where he taught courses such as Data Science, Data Visualization and Database Management. Before transitioning to academia, he worked for five years at Tata Consultancy Services as a Business Analyst and Software Developer, gaining industry expertise in technology-driven solutions.

Dr. Das’s research interests lie in network theory, computational social science, and the intersection of technology and sustainable development. His research paper, titled "Predicting the outbreak of epidemics using a network-based approach," has been published in an A* journal. He has presented papers at leading conferences, including the LEAD 2024 Conference on Empowering Humanity at IIM Shillong, SPJIMR Chicago Booth India Quantitative Marketing Conference at SPJIMR Mumbai and the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence Applications at IIM Bangalore.

He is proficient in Python, R, Tableau, PowerBI, KNIME, SQL, and Gephi and has experience in teaching, mentoring, and administrative tasks. Dr. Das has attended workshops and faculty development programs on advanced analytics and generative AI at prestigious institutions such as IIM Calcutta and IIM Bangalore. He has served as a reviewer for the research journals, Journal
of Advances in Management Research and Paradigm. He has acted as the guest speaker on AI and education at St. Xavier College Mumbai.

His teaching philosophy centers on bridging the gap between theory and practice through adaptive, student-centric learning approaches and activity-based pedagogy.
