Biography

Dr. Nivedita Sharma is an Associate Professor at Jindal Global Business School (JGBS). She is also visiting fellow at the Council for Social Development, New Delhi. She works in the area of agricultural marketing, value chains, and rural development. She previously held positions as an Assistant Professor at the Council for Social Development and as an Associate Fellow at the Centre for International Projects Trust. Dr. Sharma has also worked as a consultant for prominent organizations and think tanks. Dr. Sharma completed her Master's in Economics from Panjab University, Chandigarh, where she achieved first rank and was awarded a Gold Medal for her exceptional academic performance. She went on to earn her Ph.D. from IIT Roorkee, followed by a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at JNU, New Delhi. Her research has been published in numerous national and international peer-reviewed journals, and she has contributed opinion articles to prominent media outlets. In addition to her research, Dr. Sharma has led several projects and organised seminars, conferences, and workshops that have fostered meaningful discussions on key social and economic issues.

ICSSR Post Doctoral Fellowship from 2016-2018

Completed a research project titled-Status and pathways for portability of cash and in-kind transfers in India. Project report submitted to KFW, Germany and Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India in 2022.

Completed a research project titled-Comprehensive research study on pattern of farming and to assess the costing and income from cultivation of major crops in 2021. Project report was submitted to Planning Department, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi. 

Completed a research project titled-Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Rural Labour Markets: A Study of Employment, Earnings and Inclusion as principal investigator in 2020. Project report was submitted to National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Hyderabad.

Completed a project titled-Financial Inclusion of Rural Citizens: Assessing the Impact of Investor Awareness Program on Potential Investors in Rural India as principal investigator in 2020. Project report was submitted to CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, New Delhi.
