Biography

Dr. Priyatej Kotipalli is an academic and ecosystem builder working at the intersections of family business, entrepreneurship, and cultural economics. He currently serves as Deputy Director of IDEATE Labs and Associate Professor at O.P. Jindal Global University, where he leads initiatives in entrepreneurship, startup incubation, and family business governance.

His career spans India and Europe, including leadership roles in academic program design, research centers, and multi-country collaborations. He has worked extensively on building educational programs, accelerators, cross-institutional partnerships, and executive development offerings focused on next-generation business leadership.

Dr. Kotipalli’s research explores:

  • Economics of crafts and shared goods
  • Governance logics in family firms
  • Entrepreneurial competencies and startup ecosystems
  • Cultural policy and heritage-led development

His work has appeared with Routledge, Palgrave, and in international platforms linked to the World Crafts Council, cultural economics research networks, and policy conversations across India and Europe.

He is also deeply engaged in mentoring founders, and designing experiential learning formats linking students with real enterprises.
 

Dr. Kotipalli has advised governments, foundations, and development agencies, including work with:

  • Enviu (Rotterdam)
  • Foundations in Italy and The Netherlands
  • Office of the Governor, Government of Chhattisgarh

His consulting contributions span monitoring and evaluation, social innovation models, heritage-linked development, and entrepreneurship ecosystem strategy.
 

He has played founding or leadership roles in multiple initiatives, notably:

  • Development of IDEATE Labs and expansion of the Family Business Center 
  • Creation of incubation policies and startup programs across universities
  • Establishment of international summer schools and collaborative programs
  • Blueprinting executive education in family offices, angel investing, and governance

He is currently developing international immersion programs and building an online program portfolio, alongside incubation-center–anchored venture-support systems that connect students, alumni, and investors.
