Biography

Dr. Jakir Hussain Mazumder is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Jindal Global Business School (JGBS), O.P. Jindal Global University. He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) in May 2025 and qualified for the UGC-NET in 2019. Prior to joining IIT Roorkee, Dr. Mazumder completed his graduation and post-graduation in Economics from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

Dr. Mazumder’s doctoral research investigates a novel macroeconomic concern: how population aging influences inflationary trajectories, particularly in emerging and developing countries. His broader research interests include Demography, Macroeconomics, Monetary Economics, and Development Economics.

Dr. Mazumder has presented his research at several prestigious national and international conferences, including those organized by the Econometric Society, the Indian Econometric Society, the Indian Economic Association, AVSE Global, and the Ho Chi Minh University of Banking (HUB), among others.
