Biography

Dr. Gaurav Kabra is an Associate Professor with a broad interest in Information Technology and Supply Chain Management. With a PhD in the interdisciplinary area of Information Technology and Supply Chain Management from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) and over a decade of experience in teaching, training, and research, Gaurav has made significant contributions to several institutes of international repute. He also holds a B.Tech in Information Technology and an MBA from the esteemed ABV-Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Gwalior (ABV-IIITM Gwalior).

Notably, the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society International honored him with the Global Supply Chain and Logistics Award in 2023 in recognition of his teaching and research in the field. His achievements include the ‘Highly Commended Paper Award’ from the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence in 2016 and the ‘Best Paper’ award at various International Conferences, including the 2019 International Conference of the Society of Operations Management. In 2019, Gaurav was recognized as one of the top seven researchers in humanitarian supply chain management, demonstrating his commitment to addressing critical global challenges. He was globally acknowledged as a leading researcher in 2021 in digital technology within humanitarian supply chain management, and he continues to mentor students, including those who won the Best Summer Project Awards at NITIE Mumbai (now IIM Mumbai) in 2021.

Beyond his accolades, Gaurav actively contributes to society through several sponsored projects that deliver tangible benefits to communities. These projects include investigating social media adoption by NGOs, promoting solar water pumps among individual farmers, and enhancing millet production in Uttarakhand. He firmly believes that research achieves its true purpose when it benefits the community.

Gaurav has published extensively in leading scientific journals. He has authored and co-authored numerous book chapters and research articles with prominent scholars. His work appears in reputable national and international journals indexed by Scopus/ABDC/ABS, including Production Planning and Control, Journal of Enterprise Information Management, American Journal of Business, International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, Telematics and Informatics, and Neural Computing and Applications.

Received the Global Supply Chain and Logistics Award by the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society International on November 04, 2023.
