Biography

Dr. Bhawna Sahu is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Jindal Global Business School. She earned her PhD from the Indian Institute of Management Indore, specializing in Economics, following a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Hyderabad. Her doctoral thesis, titled "Essays on Monetary Policy, Bank Liquidity, and Stock Market," explores the effects of monetary policies in the US and India on Indian financial markets and earned her the Best Paper Award from 2nd International Conference on Banking, Finance and Business - ICBFB 2023. She also received 2020 AIB India conference promising doctoral research award. 

Her research interests span macroeconomics, monetary policies, socio-economic development, econometrics, time series analysis, and financial markets. Currently, Dr Sahu is studying the socio-economic influences on menstrual practices and waste disposal, contributing critical insights towards circular economics and sustainable waste management. Her interdisciplinary work aims to promote discussions on sustainability and gender equity.

In her academic role, Dr Sahu offers a comprehensive range of courses, including macroeconomics, microeconomics, statistics for managers, economics of strategy, and environmental management. Her multifaceted approach not only enriches her teaching but also fosters a deeper understanding of complex economic and environmental issues among her students.
