Dr. Vedika Gupta, an Associate Professor at Jindal Global Business School (IS & Analytics area), brings a wealth of experience and expertise to both academia and research. With a background in government administration, her skills encompass research and development (R&D), data analysis, artificial intelligence, social media analysis, and socio-economic behavior detection.
She holds a PhD from the National Institute of Technology Delhi (NITD), specializing in social media sentiment analysis, and has dedicated over 11 years to research and teaching. Her scholarly interests span data mining, information retrieval, data science, sentiment analysis, and emotion recognition. Notably, she has contributed to over 50 publications in esteemed international Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus journals as well as conferences.

Dr. Vedika actively participates in the academic community by serving as a reviewer for reputable journals by Springer, IEEE, and Elsevier. Her commitment is evident in her thorough review of over 100 papers for peer-reviewed international journals and esteemed conferences. She maintains a lifetime membership with the Computer Society of India and contributes to the Machine Intelligence Research Lab, USA, and the Text Analytics Research Group at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Dr. Vedika serves as the Assistant Dean for the One-year MBA program at OP Jindal Global University. She has organized four Hackathons and three Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and has contributed as a member of the Research & Development Cell and the admission panel at her previous organizations.

In her approach to teaching, Prof. Vedika emphasizes practical knowledge, blending theoretical concepts with real-world applications. She perceives experimental research as an engaging endeavor, viewing it as a means to innovate and explore new avenues in her field. Driven by the belief that the essence of teaching and research lies in delivering original contributions, her pedagogical methods are tailored to challenge intellectual boundaries while aligning with practical scenarios and real-time case studies.

Research Interests: Social Media Analytics, Natural Language Processing, Sentiment Analysis, Information Retrieval, Emotion Recognition.
