Jindal Institute of Leadership Development and Executive Education (JILDEE) started the 2018-19 training year with one programme in April and four programmes in the month of May. Two programmes on “Women Empowerment” were conducted for all-India female employees of the Power Grid Corporation of India. The programmes were in Shimla and Jim Corbett National Park from 5-7 April and 3-5 May 2018 respectively.
In addition, JILDEE conducted a 7-day programme on “International Relations”; 3-day programme on “English Writing and Reading Skill”; and 2-day programme on “Organization Psychology and Emotional Intelligence” for Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) officers and Telangana State Service officers in the month of May. Both the programmes were residential with a pedagogy of Case Studies, Interactive Learning and Outbound activities.
The training year ended with JILDEE once again making its mark in the domain of executive education by conducting over 30 programmes for various government organisations and public sector units. The programmes were a mix of residential programmes both on and off campus, including a programme in Singapore and other outbound programmes.
Government Sector
More than 200 officers of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) including a batch of 20 monks and nuns were trained in leadership, management and communication skills. The 2-week module on Leadership, Management and Communication Skills was designed in collaboration with the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS).
JILDEE also engaged with the West Bengal Government wherein 25 officers of the State Administrative Service underwent a 5-day domestic module on Public Finance and Budgeting at JGU and were then taken to Singapore for a 5-day programme held at the LKY School, NUS.
Public Sector Undertakings
JILDEE conducted programmes on “Women Empowerment” for female employees of the Power Grid Corporation of India in the month of April and May 2018. Women participants came from offices/branches located across the country. The 3-days residential programmes were conducted at Shimla and Jim Corbett National Park. The participants not only had the opportunity to learn the rights and laws governing women and their empowerment but also had a sneak into nature with a trip to Shimla and safaris in the Corbett National Park.
The other Public Sector Undertakings addressed were Power Grid Corporation of India, NHPC, IFFCO, THDC, CCIC, THDC and Indian Oil Corporation etc.
The month of May also saw JILDEE launch three pilot government programmes:
- A 7-day programme on International Relations for the CTA officers was conducted from 6-12 May 2018. Designed in collaboration with the Jindal School of International Affairs, the programme was well taken by the participants. A number of retired ambassadors and senior retired Army Generals formed the core team of resource persons for the programme.

Future Engagements
JILDEE is busy making fresh inroads into a number of organisations with a stress on domestic and foreign programmes. The Government of West Bengal will be sending a batch of 25 officers for a programme to be conducted at the Somerville College, Oxford University UK and the LKY School of Public Policy, Singapore in the month of August and November respectively.
Public Sector Undertakings like the Power Grid, NHPC, THDC, Indian Oil and IFFCO have been actively engaged and have confirmed programmes for the year. Besides, JILDEE is actively engaged in opening doors with new PSUs and Corporations including the Rural Electrification Corporation, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, and the Power Finance Corporation.
