Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS), in collaboration with Jindal Institute of Leadership Development & Executive Education (JILDEE), conducted six-day mid-career training programme for officers of the Comptroller & Auditor General (CAG) of India. The programme was held from October 30 to November 4.<\/p>\n

Professor of Eminence (Dr.) Sanjeev P. Sahni, Founder & Principal Director of JIBS, conducted a session on \u2018Performance Management\u2019. While talking about different aspects of performance management, Dr. Sahni explained different methods of performance management. He also delved into the negative effects of criticism and importance of positive reinforcement.<\/p>\n

Prof. (Dr.) Pulkit Khanna, Executive Dean, JIBS, conducted a session on \u2018Effective Communication\u2019, in which she stressed the importance of communication skills on technical issues, while also emphasising on the constructive engagement with the client organisation. She also delivered a session on \u2018SDGs\u2011the India story \u2013 National Strategy for achieving SDGs\u2019.<\/p>\n

Sessions were also conducted by Dr. Sneh Kapoor, Associate Professor, JIBS, on \u2018SDGs and the Challenge of Gender Equality\u2019 and by Dr. Vipin Vijay Nair, Assistant Professor, JIBS, on \u2018Financial Crime\u2019 and \u2018Cloud Computing\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Dr. Pravin B. Yannawar, Associate Professor at IHBAS, Delhi, delivered a talk on \u2018Evolution of Mental Health Act: Colonial Era to Contemporary\u2019 on November 3. He covered the historical progression and changes in mental health legislation, policies, and practices from the colonial era to contemporary times.<\/p>\n

Dr. Yannawar explored the early perceptions of mental health, including the origins of asylums, the evolution of treatment methods, and the development of mental health laws. He also addressed the significant shifts in societal attitudes towards mental health, changes in patient rights, the impact of scientific advancements on mental healthcare, and the ongoing efforts to destigmatise mental illness while ensuring ethical, humane and effective treatment for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.<\/p>\n

Dr. Yannawar has served as a lecturer at the Maharashtra Institute of Mental Health and B.J. Medical College in Pune, followed by a role as a Medical Social Service Officer at AIIMS, New Delhi. He has also worked as a co\u2011investigator with ICMR and NACO on the essential subject of HIV AIDS and drug abuse.<\/p>\n

The Transformative Talk Series is an initiative by the JIBS towards bridging the gap between the theoretical and the industrial realms of psychology, academia, and research.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Awareness Campaign conducted at Sanfort Special School, Sonipat<\/h5>\n

The students of the Psychosocial Rehabilitation programme at JIBS conducted a campaign for students with special needs at Sanfort Special School, Sonipat, on November 2. The theme of the campaign was \u2018Empowering Students with Good Touch and Bad Touch Awareness: Building a Safe and Respectful Environment\u2019. The main objective was to apprise specially-abled children about the concept of good and bad touch, equipping them with the skills to differentiate between the two and seek help when they feel uncomfortable.<\/p>\n

The campaign started with an introduction to personal boundaries using the \u2018My Bubble Space\u2019 activity, ensuring students understand the sanctity of personal space. This was followed by in-depth discussion on good touch, aided by activities such as \u2018Safe Circle\u2019 and \u2018Red Flag, Green Flag\u2019. The session culminated with a video and roleplay that empowered children to vocalise their feelings and emphasised the importance of saying \u2018no\u2019 in potentially harmful situations.<\/p>\n

The session concluded with a group discussion and reward activity, which served to reinforce the campaign\u2019s learnings. The campaign was a milestone in JIBS\u2019 continuous efforts to create a safer environment for our children.<\/p>\n

JIBS faculty member releases book<\/h5>\n

A book titled\u00a0Subjective Well-Being in the Indian Context: Concept, Measure, and Index<\/em>\u00a0written by Dr.\u00a0Tithi Bhatnagar, Associate Professor at\u00a0 JIBS,\u00a0got published by Springer Nature in Singapore.<\/p>\n

This book offers an understanding of subjective well-being (SWB) in the Indian context across ages and strata. It discusses the conceptualisation and measurement of both SWB and subjective ill-being (SIB) through a multi-phased research study. The structure of SWB and development, standardisation, and indexing of an SWB measure provides insights on how it can enable nations to find out the national level of SWB\/SIB for its citizens.<\/p>\n

The index may be useful in identifying the level of people\u2019s well-being or ill-being. It explores the possibility of implications and interventions in optimising SWB both at the individual and collective level. It is a consolidated account of the work done in SWB research, particularly with a cultural focus on the Indian context. The book has a wide application for students, researchers, psychometricians, practitioners, policymakers and anyone interested in concepts like SWB and happiness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Dr. Tithi Bhatnagar, Associate Professor at JIBS, was invited as an Expert Speaker to talk about her latest book \u2018Subjective Well-Being in the Indian Context: Concept, Measure and Index\u2019 along with inputs by an ISQOLS (International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies) Member. During the multidisciplinary cooperation session, held online on November 17, Dr. Bhatnagar spoke on \u2018Culture Based Development (CBD), Institutions and Public Goods in the Regions of India\u2019 organised by University of Swansea, Wales, UK.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

JIBS faculty member attends Faculty Development Programme<\/h5>\n

Dr.\u00a0Tithi Bhatnagar, Associate Professor at JIBS, was invited as a Resource Person for a 5-day Faculty Development Programme on \u2018Effective Education in Allied Healthcare Programme\u2019. The programme was organised by Manav Rachna International Institute of Research & Studies, School of Allied Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy.<\/p>\n

As part of the programme, Dr. Bhatnagar conducted an online session on \u2018Mind Mapping in Education\u2019, held on November 22 that was attended by around 45 participants.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
