The Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences organised the 6th International Conference on Victim Assistance on 27th and 28th October 2017 at the JGU campus.

The main theme for this year’s conference was “Evolving Perspectives on Victimology”. The conference had over 100 paper presentations and 3 parallel sessions held over a period of two days. The conference was attended by approximately 300 attendees from across the world.

In addition the Conference, the 15th Asian Post graduate Course on Victimology, Victim Assistance and Criminal Justice was organised by the Centre for Victimology and Psychological Studies (CVPS) of JIBS from 23 October 2017 to 4 November 2017. The two-week Postgraduate Course had about 40 lectures related to victimology in the course and was attended by 50 students. Resource faculty for the Course came from 20 different countries and students from several universities abroad and within India attended. Topics covered by the course included: traditional and innovative themes of victimology, e.g. Theoretical Basics in Victimology, Principles of Victim Assistance, Avoidance of Secondary Victimization, Principles of Interventions for Crime Victims, Victimization in India, Victimization of Juveniles,” Structural Victimization”, Cyber-Victimization, The Victim in the Criminal Justice System, Internet Infidelity, Rape Victims, Mediation, Restoration and Compensation, Restorative Justice in India, Victims of Communal Violence, Sex Trafficking, Prison Victimization, Female Genital Mutilation.
