The establishment of JGU at Sonipat in Haryana has opened up new employment opportunities for members from local communities of the surrounding areas as the University has stayed committed to providing full and productive employment and decent work for all the eligible candidates. The University also strives to nurture local employment by identifying local talent in areas of academics, leadership, cultural and sports areas. JGU aims to align employment, training and regulation of policies to be consistent with its commitment to promoting equity and access. It endeavours to provide appropriately positioned and supported scholarship and financial assistance schemes for students in need. Selection of the candidates for employment at the University are made strictly on the basis of merit. Salaries of all the administrative staff at JGU are competitive and more than the living wage, or minimum wage as defined by the government. Salaries of all faculty members at JGU are competitive and more than the University Grants Commission (UGC) pay scales, decided on the basis of experience and qualification of individual faculty members.

Appeal Process for Employees:
JGU ensures that all complaints are dealt within a constructive and timely manner. The concerned body for this is the Human Resource Department, which provides a clear unified mechanism for the resolution of complaints, grievances or problems raised by staff in relation to human resource management and work related matters such as but not limited to; staff members’ rights and pay appeals without hesitation, ensuring proactive secured practices. Situations may occur where, a staff member believes that the fair and consistent application of a policy affecting him/her has not been followed appropriately.

All staff at JGU across all provisions (Academic and Non-Academic Staff) may reach out to the HR Department of JGU for all matters such as those mentioned above.

Further, in case of any grievance regarding pay during their appraisal cycle, all members are given the option to put in their appraisal & assessment for secondary review, keeping their reporting manager in the loop.
