The University’s vision, mission and core values emerged out of its belief in creating an institution anchored in principles and practices that promote public service and make meaningful contributions to India and the world. The university provides a supportive, inclusive and safe working and learning environment for people from financially and socially disadvantaged backgrounds, people from rural and regional areas, differently abled persons, people of diverse genders and sexualities and people from diverse cultural communities and faiths. By making education of global standards available to Indian students and students from underdeveloped countries, and thereby enabling them to participate in the global economy, JGU, which is a non-profit institution, is helping reduce inequality within India and among all the countries. JGU also promotes respect among the students for all social and economic classes and provides equal opportunity to all groups and communities globally and engages with international students from underdeveloped and undeveloped countries on the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Other measures that the University has taken to reduce inequality within India and among all countries include advocacy, partnerships with educational as well as non-profit institutions around the world for building a more just and equitable world and various research activities of its faculty members.
