"As legal practice evolves, the expectations of lawyers are changing. Professional success increasingly requires competencies that extend beyond doctrinal knowledge—embracing technology-enabled practice, strategic judgement, interdisciplinary collaboration, cross-border engagement and institutional leadership."
— GLFP Philosophy
Philosophy

Law can no longer be practised inside a single jurisdiction.

The defining challenges of our time demand dialogue across legal systems, collaboration across sectors, and leaders capable of navigating complexity with judgement, integrity and purpose.

It is also a philosophy that naturally reflects the educational mission of O.P. Jindal Global University. Built on global engagement, interdisciplinary scholarship, academic freedom and societal impact, the University views legal education not merely as the study of law, but as the preparation of professionals who can strengthen institutions, shape public policy and contribute meaningfully to society.

The Fellowship brings together lawyers from diverse jurisdictions, sectors and legal traditions to examine the governance challenges shaping the future of legal practice — learning from distinguished faculty, judges, practitioners, policymakers, and one another.

Unlike conventional executive programmes centred on the transfer of knowledge, this Fellowship is built around the development of professional competencies, leadership and enduring global networks. Every keynote, workshop, simulation and collaborative exercise is intentionally designed to strengthen the judgement, strategic thinking and leadership required of lawyers operating in an increasingly interconnected world.

Founded in 2009 with the vision of creating India's first global law school, JGLS has developed into an internationally connected institution — drawing on an interdisciplinary ecosystem spanning public policy, international affairs, business, technology and governance to create an immersive platform that moves beyond conventional executive legal education.

Programme Structure

Seven days, one underlying capability

The most significant challenges facing lawyers today — AI adoption, climate accountability, cross-border dispute resolution — all require the same underlying capability: governance judgment under uncertainty.

DAYS 01 – 02

AI Track

Governing Artificial Intelligence & Digital Trust

Experiencing the new frontier of legal practice where AI augments capability, but human judgment, advocacy and responsibility remain irreplaceable.

DAYS 03 · 04 · 05

Thematic Track

ESG · Governance · ADR

Navigating the forces reshaping our world through expert perspectives and immersive experiences in governance, sustainability, conflict and global legal leadership

DAY 06 · 07

Immersive Experiences

Beyond the Classroom

Culture, Connections & Community. Where learning becomes experience — creating space for meaningful connections, cultural discovery and shared moments beyond the classroom

Consistent, Not Monotonous

Every day follows the same time structure. What changes is the format — workshops, microworkshops, roundtables, simulations, fireside chats.

Built for Global Participants

Content is jurisdictionally inclusive. Exercises draw from multiple legal systems. Participants' diversity is an asset, not a variable.

Applied, Not Passive

Fellows work with real problems, not textbook hypotheticals. Each session produces a tangible output they can take back to practice.

Two hemispheres of a digitally rendered brain, one warm, one cool
The Governing Logic

Two hemispheres, one discipline

AI adoption, climate accountability, and cross-border dispute resolution look like separate specialisms. The Fellowship treats them as one — the analytical rigour of legal doctrine paired with the strategic judgement institutions now demand of their lawyers.
