Professor Gudmundur Eiriksson appointed as Arbitrator under Annex VII to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea
Professor Gudmundur Eiriksson, Jindal Global Law School and Executive Director, Centre for International Legal Studies, JGU has been appointed as an Arbitrator in a new Arbitral Tribunal in the case titled “In the Matter of an Arbitration before an Arbitral Tribunal Constituted under Annex VII to the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea between Ukraine and the Russian Federation in respect of a Dispute concerning the Detention of Ukrainian Naval Vessels”. Dr. Prabhakar Singh receives Asian Society of International Law Young Scholar Prize 2019
The Asian Society of International Law has chosen Dr. Prabhakar Singh, Associate Professor, Jindal Global Law School as the joint winner for the Asian Society of International Law Young Scholar Prize for his article, ‘Of International Law, Semi-colonial Thailand, and Imperial Ghosts’. The selection committee noted that “the author fills a gap in the literature by examining the implications of the distinction between colonialism and semi-colonialism for the historiography of international law and how it can and has played itself out in the postcolonial era.”
