LL.M. in Artificial Intelligence, Law and Emerging Technologies<\/h3><\/div>

The Centre through the Jindal Global Law School, has launched the LL.M. in Artificial Intelligence, Law and Emerging Technologies – a first-of-its-kind, practice-oriented postgraduate programme designed to prepare legal professionals for the challenges created by artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.<\/p>\n

Anchored in Indian law and policy, the programme adopts a comparative global lens, drawing from developments in the EU, UK, United States and emerging Global South jurisdictions. It combines rigorous legal theory, regulatory design and direct engagement with real-world AI systems, policies and disputes.<\/p>\n

The course offers a variety of specialised electives. Students also complete a dissertation on an AI-law topic of professional or research relevance under faculty supervision.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The programme is designed around case-based teaching and simulations, regulatory drafting, litigation strategy workshops, guest lectures by judges, regulators, technologists and industry leaders and industry-linked research projects through the Cyril Shroff Centre.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Its objectives are to develop advanced legal expertise in AI regulation, governance and liability from a global lens; train lawyers to litigate, advise, regulate and draft policy involving AI systems; bridge the gap between technical AI systems and legal reasoning; and prepare graduates for leadership roles in law firms, regulatory bodies, courts, corporations and international organisations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

This Bachelor of Art (B.A.) programme in Artificial Intelligence and Law is a social science programme which has as its leitmotif the role of AI in society. Society being a network of legal relations\u2014set and carried out\u2014in the semantics of law, its predominant discourse is \u201claw and society\u201d. The approach of the programme is \u201csocial engineering\u201d. Its outcome is knowledge of how technology propels human social relations and becomes a determinant in producing social outcomes. The course also makes inroads into AI applications with the limited aim of informing students on algorithmic functions. It evaluates the various aspects of the AI including the range of technologies, their advantages and disadvantages, and how AI systems operate.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
