Inside JGU 2019 - Issue 11 (November)

 

JGU announced the establishment of the university’s ninth school, the Jindal School of Environment & Sustainability (JSES). The establishment of the new school is in alignment with JGU’s significant progress since 2009 and keeping in view its recognition as an “Institution of Eminence” and the Strategic Vision 2029.


JSES aims to promote the study of environment and sustainability in all its forms and manifestations. JSES will promote research interests spanning different environmental issues in South-East Asia including, but not limited to environmental management, environmental policy and regulations, natural resources management, environmental ethics, environmental justice, climate change, environmental health, ecology and conservation. It will offer undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes.


Professor (Dr.) Armin Rosencranz has been appointed as the Founding Dean of the Jindal School of Environment & Sustainability (JSES). Professor Rosencranz is a distinguished American educator, inspiring teacher, prolific researcher, education administrator and an accomplished scholar. He will join JGU as the Dean of JSES in January 2020, while the academic programme of JSES will commence in August 2021.
