The book ‘The Tides of Life’, edited by Dr. Aditya Ghosh, Associate Professor, Jindal School of Art & Architecture (JSAA), was launched in a web programme organised by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA). IGNCA is also the publisher of the book.
The book explores one of most mysterious and fascinating landscapes in the world, the Sundarbans. A UNESCO world heritage site, the world’s largest mangrove and the only one to be a critical tiger habitat, the region is unique in many ways. Some best academics and practitioners from all over the world who have worked on the region, including Dr. Ghosh himself, have authored chapters for the book. Amitav Ghosh, who has written fascinating books on the region (The Hungry Tide and The Gun Island), has written the preface of the book.
He has over 20 years of professional experience. Before switching to the academia in 2009, he worked as a full-time journalist between 1999 and 2010. He had worked with Hindustan Times, The Times of India and Encyclopedia Britannica. He joined JSAA in 2019.
