“Legal Constructions of Sexuality in Colonial Lucknow”

Prof. Veena Talwar Oldenburg is a professor of History at Baruch College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Prof. Oldenburg has previously taught at Sarah Lawrence College and Columbia University, USA. Prof. Oldenburg is a native of Lucknow, India. She has a bachelors degree from Loreto Convent College and an M.A. from the University of Lucknow. She has a second masters from the University of Bridgeport and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has authored a number of books and articles including, the Making of Colonial Lucknow: Princeton University Press, 1984 and Dowry Murder : The Imperial Origins Of A Cultural crime : Oxford University Press, 2002.
