Avaantika graduated from Jindal Global Law School in 2016 and started her professional journey with a law firm in Bombay but she soon realized that her passion was Children’s Rights. This led to her joining Counsel to Secure Justice, a Delhi-based organization working with victims of child sexual abuse. She represented child sexual abuse victims in Delhi Courts for two years. During this time, she also trained stakeholders on laws surrounding child sexual abuse and their implementation and undertook advocacy efforts with government bodies. She then pursued an Advanced LLM in International Children’s Rights from Leiden University and is currently an Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School. She continues to work on Child Rights through the clinic including teaching a credit course on Child Sexual Abuse & the Law.
Ajmal graduated from the Aligarh Muslim University in 2019 and he then pursued an LLM in Access to Justice from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. ‘A Critical Socio-Legal Study of Child Care Institutions in Kerala, It’s Impact on Vulnerable Juveniles’. During his TRIP fellowship at JGLS in 2022, he began his journey with the Child Rights Clinic by assisting with its day-to-day administration and operations. He is currently an assistant lecturer at Jindal Global Law School and leading the Child Rights Blog team at the clinic.
Samiksha’s journey with child rights started during multiple internships with government offices in her law school. After finishing her graduation from Symbiosis Law School, Pune in 2020, Samiksha was certain to build a career in human rights advocacy and research. Consequently, she went on to pursue an LL.M. in Transnational Crimes and Justice from United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute – University for Peace in 2021. Post that, she served as the Legal Researcher to Hon’ble Mr. Justice Dinesh Mehta at Rajasthan High Court for more than a year. She joined Jindal Global Law School in 2023 and presently works as a Lecturer there, teaching subjects on international human rights and juvenile justice.
