The Center for Complexity Economics, Applied Spirituality and Public Policy (CEASP) at Jindal School of Government and Public Policy (JSGP) held a unique panel discussion on ‘Applied Spirituality and Public Policy’ on November 24. The panel hosted spiritual leaders and scholars from various countries such as Swami Sarvapriyananda, Rabbi Michael Lerner, Mr Rajiv Mehrotra, Rev. Dr Joni Carley and Dr Mahmoud Masaeli.
The event started with introductory remarks by JSGP Dean Prof. R Sudarshan. The discussion was moderated by Professor (Dr) Naresh Singh, Director, CEASP. Luminaries in the panel narrated their path-breaking works in taking spirituality to public life. The focus of the panel was on how the spiritual philosophies and teachings over ages can be imbibed into the practices of public policymaking. The speakers emphasised the immediacy of cultivating spiritual thinking in public policymaking.
The discussion also considered a new Master’s programme on Applied Spirituality and Public Policy that CEASP is exploring to start soon. The proposed programme may be available to students internationally. The panelists showed keen interest in guiding and participating in such proposed programmes.
