O.P. Jindal Global University has taken wide-ranging measures to reduce carbon emissions. These measures include transitioning from conventional to green power, promoting sustainable transportation and minimizing waste, among others. The University has set the target of achieving net zero carbon emissions from scope 1 and 2 sources by 2035.
Scope 1 emissions refer to direct greenhouse (GHG) emissions that occur from sources that are owned or controlled by the university, while Scope 2 emissions refer to indirect GHG emissions associated with the purchase of electricity, steam, heat, or cooling.
