JGLS students have\neven greater career prospects abroad now that the Law Council of Australia\n(LCA) has recognised all JGLS LLB degrees under the Uniform Principles for\nAssessing Qualifications of Overseas Applicants for Admission to the Australian\nLegal Profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
JGLS and the Centre\nfor India Australia Studies (CIAS) of O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) are\nworking to create such opportunities. The CIAS and JGLS are making Australia\nmore accessible through partnerships in student exchange, degree programmes and\ninternships in Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This recognition by\nthe LCA, coupled with the increasing opportunities created by the CIAS and\nJGLS, mean that students will have clear pathways to pursue a career in law in\nAustralia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Professor (Dr.) C.\nRaj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor of JGU and Dean of JGLS has emphasized,\u201cProviding\nour students with international career opportunities is a key part of our\nglobal vision at JGU. The recognition of our world class degree programme by\nthe LCA is consistent with our vision to create awareness and access to\nopportunities for our students in Australia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am therefore delighted that Jindal Global Law School has taken\nthese to the next level in seeking and achieving recognition for its\nqualifications.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Typically, to be able\nto practise law in Australia, graduates from foreign law schools are required\nto complete 11 additional subjects after finishing their foreign degree.\nHowever, now JGLS students will receive pre-approval of 7 of these subjects if\nthey score the required grades in each. Accordingly, JGLS students will only\nhave to complete 4 prescribed subjects and complete their practical legal\ntraining in order to become a qualified practising lawyer in Australia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
