As part of tenth anniversary commemorations, JGU celebrates the success of its alumni. Here are 19 alumni who have gone on to make a mark.
Anagha Nandakumaran, LLB (JGU) 2012
After completing her LLB, Anagha went on to complete an Intensive Course on Health and Human Rights at Harvard University School of Public Health in 2012. This year she completed her LLM from University of Toronto, Canada.
Chummar A.C, LLB (JGU) 2012
Chummar received the Pearson VUE Merit Scholarship in 2009. He received the Certificate of Academic Excellence in 2010 and 2011 at JGU. In 2012, he received the Gold Medal for Overall Academic Excellence at JGU.
He completed his LLM from NYU School, USA in 2014.

Anupam Hazarika, BA (Delhi) 2011, MA (DLB) (JGU), 2013
Anupam has worked on different forms of sustainability, community mobilisation for women empowerment, strengthening climate change communication, and adaptation and mitigation of vulnerable communities for developing resilience.
Purnima Kajal, BA (Delhi), MA (DLB) (JGU), 2013
Purnima is currently pursuing her PhD at King’s College London. She was awarded the Charles Wallace India Trust Doctoral Grant in 2016.
During her time at JGU, she was awarded the Savitri Jindal Graduate Assistantship in 2011. She also spent a semester abroad at the School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Indiana University, USA in 2012.
Kudrat Dev, BA LLB (Hons.), 2014
Kudrat has worked as a Consultant and a Conflict Coach with leading mediation organisations in London. Prior to this, she worked as a dispute resolution lawyer with Khaitan & Co in litigation, ADR and international arbitration matters which have resulted in landmark judgments. She was awarded the prestigious Chevening Scholarship to pursue her LL.M. from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London which she completed in 2018. She is currently an in-house lawyer at Siemens.
Kabir Darshan Singh Chaudhary, BA LLB (Hons.), 2014
After graduation, Kabir was awarded the Legislative Assistant to Member of Parliament (LAMP) Fellowship, where he assisted Mr. Jagdambika Pal in his legislative affairs. Simultaneously, he served as a Consultant Research Associate with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and represented the Indian technical community at the United Nations Internet Governance Forum, in Turkey. For the next two years, he worked with several technology companies, as a member of the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications team at Nishith Desai Associates. He has completed his LL.M. (Law, Science and Technology) from Stanford Law School.
Shireen Moti, B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) (JGU), 2014
In 2016, Shireen was awarded with the distinction of the Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society, UK for a period of five years. In the same year, she became one of the youngest recipients of Foreign and Commonwealth Office British Chevening Scholarship, the UK Government’s global scholarship.
She excelled at academics and served as the President of the Clinical Legal Aid Society (“Society”) for a period of five years. Currently, she is working at JGU.
Rohan Kothari, B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) (JGU), 2014
Rohan was awarded a studentship for the years 2009-13 at JGU. He was also a recipient of a JGU Merit Scholarship for the years 2010-13. He stood 4th on the Dean’s List in 2013 (Award for Outstanding Academic Performance). He was also a recipient of the Extra-Curricular Activities Award, 2013-014. He completed his LL.M. from the University of Cambridge in 2015.
Dr. Vinay Sharma, B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) (JGU), 2014
Dr. Sharma completed his Doctor of Juridical Science from Guanghua Law School in June 2019 and received the title of All-Rounder Foreign Student. His thesis was titled Role of Judicial Transparency in Building a Rule of Law Society: A Comparative Study between India and China.
Anindo Roy Das, M.B.A (JGU), 2012
Anindo worked as a senior consultant in Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP for four years (2012-16), and was awarded the partner recognition as the best performer.
He has been working in the Smart City domain as a consultant and sales manager with different companies, including Tata Project Ltd.
His strategic thinking, analytical skills, leadership abilities, interpersonal skills, determination and tenacity makes him the success he is today, leading Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) for the Future Cities Industries Business Unit within his company- SAP.
Kushal Jain, M.B.A (JGU), 2012
Kushal’s professional experience in the financial sector, relates to his work at Deutsche Bank, HDFC Bank Ltd., YES Bank Ltd., and ICICI Bank Ltd., in the sales management and relationship management departments.
During his tenure at ICICI Bank, he had the opportunity to participate in a training program with CRISIL (Credit Rating Information Services of India Limited) and was recognised as the best student in the program. In the same year, in recognition of his high quality work, he became a member of ICICI Bank’s Elite Trade Relations Group (ETRG Team) and qualified for Achievers of the North status. He is currently working as Senior Relationship Manager of the Small and Medium Enterprise group at IDFC Bank.
Prateek Pathak, MA(PP) (JGU), 2014
After completing the M.A in Public Policy in 2014, Prateek worked as research associate in the Vice Chancellor’s Office, JGU. During his two-year tenure at JGU, Prateek co-authored a book titled, ‘The Education President’, produced by the University.
He later co-founded a start-up called Artociate, providing a networking system for performers and creative artists. He has been appointed as the Business Analyst at the Office of the Chairman in the multimedia company Percept Ltd. Prateek also founded the Mumbai chapter of ISOC (Internet Society) and is responsible for the Indian presence of this global organisation dealing with internet-related standards, education, access and policy.

Harsh completed her MSc. in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London in 2018.

Anisha completed her MSc. in (Investment and Finance) from Queen Mary University of London, UK in 2018.
She attended Entrepreneurship and Innovation programme in KU Leuven, Belgium in 2015 while at JGU.

Sanjana completed her MA from the London School of Economics, UK in 2019.
Atharva Deshmukh, B.A. G.A. (Hons) (JGU), 2018
Atharva will be pursuing the MSc. International Political Economy programme at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) starting in September 2019. Currently he is working as a Research Associate at the World Trade Center in Mumbai.

Harjot completed his MA from the University of Sussex, UK, in 2019.
He received the Student of the Year Award from JGU in 2015-16.
Kanika Dabra, B.A. (LH) (JGU), 2018
Kanika is currently pursuing her MA at Yale Divinity School, US for which she has received a scholarship of USD18,000.
