Prof. C Raj Kumar Conferred P N Bhagwati National Award - The Pioneer

Recognising his contribution to human rights, legal education and institution building, Prof. C Raj Kumar, the founding Vice-Chancellor of OP Jindal Global University, was conferred with the Capital Foundation Justice PN Bhagwati National Award at the India Islamic Cultural Centre on Monday.

Instituted by the Capital Foundation Society, the award was conferred by Dr Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. Congratulating Prof. Raj Kumar for the award, Dr. Vinod Sethi, Secretary General of Capital Foundation Society said, “Prof. Raj Kumar is a brilliant scholar, a crusader of Human Rights, a devoted researcher and one of the finest speakers and a true leader... He has singularly achieved in five years what many would take decades to do. His contributions to institution building and nation building are invaluable and will contribute in defining the destiny of an entire generation of Indian youth.” Professor Kumar was appointed as the Founding Vice Chancellor of OP Jindal Global University (JGU) at the age of 34 in 2009. He recently wrote a book titled “Corruption and Human Rights in India” published by the Oxford University Press which was positively received and reviewed.
